Nourished Life Gratitude List 2014 – Week Nine

This week has passed so quickly, but was filled with important and wonderful moments. I really felt like I took charge of my time this week and lived in the present. My interactions with the people around me were valuable as well and I was grateful to be able to sit back and enjoy the richness of conversation and the freedom of being the listener.

Here it is, the Nourished Life Gratitude List 2014 Week Nine:

Monday: I am grateful for my local GP office. I have two lovely, caring doctors that I see when I need to, and I am grateful that I have found people I trust with my health. The relationship you have with your doctor or any health practitioner is so important and finding the right one is essential.

Tuesday: This afternoon on my way home the traffic was awful. A trip that usually only takes 40 minutes took over an hour. I was grateful to have interesting podcasts to listen to (my new car syncs with my iPhone!), and to arrive safely home and into the arms of my beloved. It doesn’t matter how long the road home has been, stepping onto the carpet in my bare feet while Chris tells me about his day is guaranteed to relax me.

Wednesday: I am grateful to have such wonderful colleagues. One of the ladies at work today walked up to me and told me how awesome she thinks I am, and that she had been speaking to a few other people about how awesome I am and what a great job I do and they all agreed. I am not trying to toot my own horn here, but merely say that sometimes you think that the work you do doesn’t get noticed or you beat yourself up for not being in the job you thought you would be, and then something like this happens and it makes your week. I am grateful that she took the time out of her day to make mine.

Thursday: Tomorrow we are celebrating two birthdays at work and tonight I made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting. I also started work on an ice cream for tomorrow night. It was a busy night in the kitchen but I was grateful to spend some time there and to try a new recipe that seemed a challenge to me (making the custard base for ice cream always scares me).

Friday: Today I was grateful to make it out of the office for lunch with a friend and have deep conversations over sushi. I was also grateful that my Irish Coffee Ice Cream (recipe coming up this week) worked out really well. Jess came over for an impromptu ice cream party and as we all sat around the table I realised how grateful I am for the rhythm of my family. It doesn’t matter that we aren’t all under the same roof any more because it feels like nothing has changed.

Friday

Saturday: I escaped to one of my favourite exercise spots this morning – our local wetlands, and I had a great workout in the heat of the sun. Afterwards Chris and I went out for a delicious lunch and then picked up the contract for our new home! I will share more details as we get them, but wow, things are getting real now! I am so grateful that we are able to make a home together and create our own little kingdom. Tonight Chris’s family gathered to celebrate a birthday and I was grateful to catch up with everyone and to meet some new and very fascinating people.

Saturday Saturday (2)

Sunday: Today Mum, Jess, and I are off to the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art to see some of the exhibits and to see Ladyhawke, which is playing as part of their ‘Fairytales and Fables’ exhibit. We are going to lunch alongside the river and enjoy each others company and some classic 80s cinema.

Also this week:

So, I better be off to get ready to meet Mum and Jess. Tell me, dear reader, what are you grateful for this week?
