And….spring is here! I’m so happy that the days are getting longer and that I can run outside in the mornings again. The only thing I don’t love about spring is the magpies, and the miner birds, and all the other wildlife that seems hell-bent on taking this runner out of existence. I am seriously a magnet for bird attacks. I was attacked by a willy wagtail the other day people! Now that’s nature’s way of keeping me in my place. Aside from bird attacks, there has been so much to be grateful for this week. Here is my Nourished Life Gratitude List 2016 – Week Thirty-Six.pennys first walk againThis week we took Penny out for her first walk since our incident a month ago. She was so ready to get her harness back on and get out there. Chris and I have taken to walking her every afternoon after work and just chatting and decompressing from the day. I am grateful that our little furry warrior is back on the open road and that Chris and I get this time together in the afternoon to share our days. breakfastNo one else turned up to yoga on Tuesday night so I had a private class with my yoga teacher! We did a half hour of core work using the swiss ball. I was very sore the next day – sore but happy! I was grateful that Julie took the time to have a little one on one session with me even though she could have just gone home. We talked and laughed and had a great session.
cocktailChris and I have started a new Friday night tradition. After our walk with Miss Penny we come home and Chris stirs us up a new cocktail to try and we sit down with a little savoury snack while dinner cooks. No phones, no television, just the two of us and time to talk over a little tipple. I think this is a tradition that will find a long-lasting home here in the Herbert house. On this week’s cocktail menu: Frangelico Mojito. Highly recommended. Jessica and I ballet

snow whiteOn Saturday night Jess and I went to the ballet! We had dinner at a lovely little Italian spot (delightful even though we ended up with the windiest table in the place!) and then nitrogen ice cream (so smooth – I had a Nutella flavour) and then took our seats for Ballet Preljocaj’s performance of Snow White. It was truly amazing. The blend of modern dance and classic ballet, the John Paul Gaultier costuming, the music, everything was stunning. Two hours passed far too quickly and I could have watched the Queen and Snow White dance forever. Truly talented ladies. I was grateful for such a wonderful evening out with Jess to enjoy an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime performance. coffee shopSunday was all about Dad! We had a wonderful Father’s Day celebration at Jess and Trent’s house for Dad to say thank you for all the amazing things he does for us all year long. I am grateful for the man I get to call my father. He is always ready with a hug, or a smile, or a hanky. He celebrates Christmas with so much spirit I secretly think he might be one of Santa’s elves. He decorates our family home for Halloween and puts so much effort into creating delightful and spooky displays because he knows I love Halloween. He keeps my childhood alive all the while walking with me while I learn how to be a grown up. I love you Daddy. Happy Father’s Day.

Tell me, dear reader, what are you grateful for this week?
